@lordsuperb - thanks for sharing the many inspirational pictures. I personally am a great fan of DB suits, although only own one at present (in lack of finding nice ones over here in Germany, where they are as rare as hen's teeth). However, I really love the DB wool overcoats with the wide lapels and have been looking for one for years without success... *deepsigh*

I just got a wonderful DB jacket from Turnbull Asser, charcoal pinstripe from Fox Brothers.
Alas too big for me:confused:
Listed in B&S now in case any BIG GUY is interested.

The unpadded shoulders cut close to the body, the very high gorge and "walker" style horizontal notch, and the wearer's hugely sloped shoulders combine to make him look like a giraffe.

Maybe, but the style fits his body type. If you notice his shoulders are really narrow and sloped. A peaked lapel would look off given the slope of his shoulders and he would need to go smaller on the lapel size give his chest to shoulder ratio. I think DB suits look better with larger lapels. The tautz lapel gives him more flexibility to get a bigger lapel on the suit.

Shoulder padding and extension would be a better solution imo. The cut he chose exacerbates the narrow and sloping shoulders rather than mitigating it.
