Double breasted jackets -- double, single or no vents?

Just curious regarding MTM double breasted suit jacket vents. For those of you who went MTM, which vent style did you pick? Is there a compelling reason to chose a different vent style with a double rather than single breasted jacket?

Thanks in advance!

A single (center) vent on a DB jacket looks horrible. Don't do it. Side or non-vented are both nice. I prefer side, but I see the virtues of non.

I would go with no vent. Not for any reason other then it looking better.

Ignore the cult of the ventless double-breasted and go for side vents. The ventless look, while an appealing aesthetic choice in theory, works only if you plan never to sit down.

Side vents are much more functional on a DB jacket, as one shoul always keep the jacket buttoned, even when seated. Single breasted just looks wrong on a DB jacket.

I like side vents on a DB.

MTM I choose side/double vents for reasons of practicality. However, I don't have a strong preference either way; I am quite happy to wear ventless vintage d/b jackets and, in the unlikely event that I ever had a d/b dinner jacket made, would probably go ventless for the sake of tradition. I would avoid single/centre vents.

...or you could just unbutton it when you sit...

What cult?

Most of my double breasted lounges are ventless and I sit down all the time. The only time I notice a difference is when I go to put my hands in my pockets.

First concern is your body type, such as drop and seat size related to your waist and chest as to what style works for you, then decide which vent to use for your jacket style.
Center vent is best used when riding a horse.
