If only he had taken the Higher Ground, he would not be living in a Pastime Paradise. I Wish he believed in Superstition. I don't think We Can Work It Out.

So, if you drive drunk and something happens you don't have insurance?

Although I'm no Australian insurance expert, my guess is that your insurance company will still cover any damage you do to other folks' property, just not damage you may do to your own car.

What is it in the states? I've heard that they'll cover the crash, but then drop you as a customer.

Well in Australia if you are over the legal limit your insurance will not pay out. Not sure what the rule are elsewhere.

yeah I had the same suscpicion but wasnt sure. They definitely wont pay for his car, but for damage done to others (ie 3rd party property insurance, which is compulsory in most/all states and paid with your rego) I am not sure. Have a feeling that they wont pay and you end up with that situation where some drunk dude is paying it back at a court-order five bucks a week for 20 yrs. Still, I guess if you can afford a Ferrari, you can afford to replace a new traffic light...althougn in this case it looks like the traffic light survived pretty well
