Lost a lot of weight; getting new suits. I'm a big dude (6'8") so I think I want to go padless and without the 3rd piece, maybe also some elastic waist so I can go without a belt (not actually a joke: the hidden kind; the weight is still coming off and I don't want to drop $5k on a set of new core wardrobe suits more than once every couple years).

    Big pads:

    Medium pads:

    No pads:

With t-shirt (sorry for the quality):

I'm thinking padless is better than the medium pad?

    You are correct.
You appear to have square shoulders, perfect for "padless"

I think it's hard to judge without seing the whole picture. It's all about proportions. Based on the images you have posted, yes, the one without shoulder pads win. If you post full-body-shots (please with clothes on) you'd get better feedback.

The problem is that this is the only recent picture I have and it's not that great for comparison

In the full body shots of the above - which are below (posting just the medium and no pad versions) - I'm about 25lbs heavier and the no-pad suit is waaaaay too long - bought it before I knew anything. Hard to tell proportion...
