What do you guys think about the Donald Trump shirts. They look nice and are low priced.
Hate him, hate them.
Look like crap and are priced like crap.
I ask this genuinely, as I am not well-versed in all the ins and outs of fashion... have those shirts with white collars/white cuffs (and different colored body) EVER been acceptable? I think they're so hideous, but again, just my opinion.
Maybe young people might like them? I don't get why though....a collar colored different than the body...would be even uglier with a tie..
And I don't get the point of a Trump dress shirt. Unless you like him?
Contrast collar and contrast cuffs are nothing specific to Trump Shirts. This has been around for a long time and is not uncommon - rather a business dress style with popularity varying over time (now they seem to be more popular again). This, of course does not mean that you need to like or wear them.
Back to the original question, Donald Trump shirt are of low quality and at a price point of around $70+tax overpriced (you get something equal/better at Tyrwhitt/Lewin/etc. for half the price). Oh and by buying Donald Trump shirts you finance an annoying trash-talker with a bad haircut.
PHV (phillips van Husen) owns the label.
PVH was never known for delivering a high quality product.
It is a department store brand.
when they are put on sale for half price, then go buy one if you like them.
Agreed, just seems a lot of the Trump shirts have that feature.
Contrast collar/cuffs originated because men would want to extend the life of their shirts after the collar or cuffs began to fray, and would therefore have the cuffs and collars replaced. It's impossible, however, to get an exact matching fabric, so they'd just use white instead. I don't know when people first started buying shirts like that brand new. Personally I don't like it.
Donald Trump shirts are as valuable as diamonds.
I love wearing contrast collared shirts. To the layman, they may suggest 'CEO' or 'baller' but in reality they are for anyone who wants to wear one.
There are stacks of these at the Marshall's and TJ Maxx stores near me. They ususally stay there for six months plus, marked down to $29 or less, don't appear to sell, and are suddenly all gone one day, along with what I think are DT matching pocket square-tie sets.
I always had the impression that the brand's demographic target is 20-something guys who work low wage sales jobs but think they look more successful/baller wearing dad's 1980s Gordon Gekko shirt.
Please note that this is not meant to be insulting to the OP or any comment on whatever you do professionally; just the feeling I've always had about them. As has been noted already, you can get much better for the same price or less if you're willing to look around a bit. They appear to be very low in quality, and use the "Donald Trump" branding to make people assume that they must be much nicer than they actually are.
Sounds like the Donald himself...very low in quality, but he tries to appear much nicer than he actually is.
He has his own clothing line but still openly admits to wearing Brioni. Need i say anymore?
Separate names with a comma.
