Yes--I'm talking about the man in the picture at the top of that article. He's not identified, but I'm pretty sure it's Spano.

it is but it's not like they are talking about him

he's been written about in many places, I am sure the NYT has done something on him in the past.

That is indeed him. Usually see him changing subway lines in the morning, and he's easy to spot.
