Hey all,

I have this pair of sweet Allen Edmonds Urbino Tassel Loafers in carmel brown

What can I pare these with that's casual? I wear a lot of jeans, some cords, simple fitted sweaters/cardigans, simple t-shirts and OCBDs. I'm 24 and a graduate student. Thoughts? Fit pics?

preppy really isn't my style but i think a navy cardigan, oxford shirt, and tan/brown cords would work with what you've got.

I like that suggestion. So I guess there'll never be anyone in a WWM lookbook wearing these?

I used to be utterly appalled by younger guys wearing tassels, in any situation. After seeing some of the looks in WAYWT though, I have been turned. I just bought a cheap-o pair of J&M ones to try and see if it looks ok with me. I'd do slim dark jeans and a vneck over a nice collared shirt (tie less and gingham). i do agree that those look a little too old man for a 20 something though.

I'm still looking for the perfect suede pair...but won't spend anywhere near even onsale retail on em. The ones I bought last week were something like $24...

Thanks for the ideas, gentlemen!

I really like these shoes for their very apparent high quality of materials and construction. And the idea of tassel loafers. But I guess I should try to trade over to a suede style with a lower vamp if I'm to try and make the tassel loafer thing work. I'll probably drop these off in the FS forum...

What is WAYWT?

Tassels aren't for me personally, but some young guys can pull them off. If you have to ask though, then you probably aren't one of them.

Ditto. Please don't wear tassel loafers with jeans!! Wait till you're over 50. No offense intended.

no, no, no, men over 50 shouldn't wear jeans. unless they are pleats or elastic banded. correction, most men over 50 shouldn't wear jeans as they do not tend to their physical apppearance. If one takes care of themselves, then completely disregard the aforementioned...

SpooPoker, I like that look but it's more complicated than the way I dress. I don't even have a vest.

I guess tassel loafers are not for me.
