Yes. She is a far superior baker than cook though. I am the superior cook but outside of breads, a crappy baker.

My wife is not only a great baker, but she is a great cook too. She can both follow a recipe, but she can improvise exceptionally well. Her "experiments" are always great.

If it was up to me, I would give her at least 1 Michelin Star

The great part is that she is better than most professionals at many different cuisines, including Japanese, Chinese, Thai, French, Italian, American, Mexican, and maybe I forgot a few.

I think one of the differences is that she really doesn`t mind spending hours in the kitchen to make things from sratch, and despises cutting corners to cut down time. Th downside is that there is nothing in our house that can be made in a few minutes (no microwave stuff or munchies) which can be inconvenient at times.

The glue that holds our marriage together is that I cook for her. It's a wonderful symbiotic relationship, though, since she works in wine imports and wholesales - I provide the food and she provides the wine.

I should note (and give proper credit) that my wife also does a good job of helping me become a better cook.

I've never made a quesadilla, but i can't imagine it being anywhere near the most difficult thing to make.

You forgot the choice of "My wife is a great cook, but I'm lucky if she cooks 5 meals for me all year".

My wife is a decent cook. I'd say that for most intricate things, or for things that require good timing - a souffle, a perfect carbonara dish, I tend to be better, but she does a lot of stuff quite passably. Neither of us are particularly domestically inclined, however, though she would like (both of us) to be.
