Does your style attract or repel women?

I think both.

If I wear something crazy out (like a madras or tartan jacket or pants) I get a lot of unsolicited compliments, sometimes from strangers and sometimes from women I know. And from guys. I actually think it's a bit of the novelty factor (and according to the Ladder Theory that's 20%

)

But at the same time, the Brooks Bros look is a bit incongruous in a sea of denim & black AmJacks.

Mark Nasons usually get compliments.

Boots imply ruggedness.

Women my age tend to dislike my clothes; they say I look too stuffy and too much like someone's grandfather. But it doesn't matter.

dude Im 19.
and i dress IMO stylish but not too trendy.
i wear my black double monkstraps and get compliments on them so often.
i live in germany maybe its because of the different taste here than in america.
even though i don't see anyone my age wearing stuff i do, it doesnt look
grandfather-ish.

btw. i never wear tshirts and allways leather shoes.

I think women or girls my age generally are into the "AmJack", Ed Hardy, A|X, etc look.

Thankfully my girlfriend enjoys well made and stylish clothing as opposed to trendy and appreciates my eye for style and quality.

they key is having personality, not just dressing well.

And not being stuck up about it, no one wants to hear that your shoes cost more then their car.....though if they find out on there own (such as taking a look at the label after you've taken them off and left them on the floor) then its a little more intriguing.

Yup. Also I think it has to do with what your clothing or style "says" about you more than anything. If your dress is ultra-conservative and boring that says "I'm a boring guy who is boring in bed" (ie. most of the fits in MC) then you probably won't be turning many heads. If your clothing says "Cool guy who is a stud in bed" then you'll turn heads. Unfortunately, it seems that for women, those associations are linked to Mark Nason, Ed Hardy, R&R, etc., basically what they've been "told" is sexy and cool.

The two word solution to all these problems is: Tom Ford.
