Does your belt twist/turn/shift while wearing?

Just curious, as I have several wonderful Lambourne English cords (from STP) which I wear all throughout the Autumn/Winter, but the darn pants don't have the belt-keeper loop and my belt inevitably twists/shifts several inches to the right.

Does anyone know what causes this to happen? (Do I walk funny? ) Interestingly enough, it only happens with the Lambourne cords and none of my other several dozens of pairs of pants/jeans/khakis/trousers/cords - with or without the belt-keeper.

I don't know why it happens, but it's not unusual to find oneself adjusting the alignment of one's belt at some point in the course of a day.

My belt buckle inevitably moves a half inch to the right over the course of time and I have to check my gig line every so often to make sure everything is lined up. It probably has to do with the fact that almost everyone has unequal leg lengths and the resultant stride difference imposes a slight torque to one's torso.

yea, my does that too.

In addition, I find that most belts, although they are cut in a semi-circle, aren't banked enough for me, and they turn outwards, if that makes sense.

This happens to me, but only with cords. I always thought it was because one side of the wale was smoother than the other, causing the friction of the rougher side to drag the belt along. I don't know if this makes any sense, and I don't know any well-dressed physicists to ask.

Oddly enough, I experience this exact phenomenon, but only with my Lambourne cords.

Thanks for the replies - glad I'm not the only one... so maybe it is common with cords - of course I have other cords from Les Copains and Incotex and this does not happen... I've decided I'm going to have my tailor put in the belt keeper on all of my Lambourne's so they don't drive me nuts.

Ok, after looking at my cords, it only happens on those where the waist is running horizontally. Cords have a nap (I think that is the right term) where they feel smooth when rubbed a certain way and rougher when they go another way. I think the belt slides along in the smooth direction. I imagine this is the way a caterpillar moves along the ground. Sound logical?

+ 1. but then again, I don't wear cords, which might pose a distinct problem. as long as your belt is sufficiently snug, it shouldn't be moving much, if at all.

if the trousers are two different leg lengths then one hip is higher. this just may be the cause. the high hip is usually on the same side as a low shoulder.
