Does watch strap have to match shoes and belt?

I am thinking about purchasing a new watch with a black leather band. Most of my shoes are brown. If one is wearing a watch with a leather strap, must the strap match the shoes and belt?

It's nice if they do match, but I have a feeling that no one really does this anyways.

No, don't match all three. Way over the top. Not good, not good at all. Ask pretty much any stylist and/or any of the advice gurus in GQ, Esquire, etc...

My favorite leather bands are taupe ot flesh tone. They blend in with the body.
