Does this suede jacket work with tailored style?

Hi guys,

My interest in classic menswear started about 2 years ago, but before that I bought a suede jacket which is a little more "bikey"/"rocky"/streetstyle than what I would have bought as a suede jacket today. I am going a bit back and forth between whether to use it or not with a dressed style. I'm not going to invest in a new suede jacket for a while at least, but if I would rewind the time I would have gotten one with a bit less details etc.

I don't have too formal of a style, but for autumn I will mostly wear flannell/corduroy/tweed pants with either a tucked-in shirt (not business shirt) or knitwear and chukka/chelsea boots.

Do you guys think this would work for that style? Thinking partly whether it works or not with tailored pants. Or should I stick to jeans and sweaters using this?

Best regards

If you're asking whether you can wear that with wool trousers, I think it depends on the silhouette of the trousers. Hard to say without seeing it in an outfit. Generally, I think a jacket like that can be worn with slimmer trousers, but it's hard to get a good fit in very slim wool trousers. It would likely look more congruent with jeans, which look a bit more natural when they're very slim.

Nice looking jacket btw.

I'm thinking that something like Prince of Wales check, plaid, or other grey-and-black scheme combined in a tweed or cashmere blend pair of trousers would look good. Assuming the jacket fits well and quite slim (!).

Jeans are an obviously good choice, along with the chelsea boots, and probably a long-sleeved knit or henley rather than a collared shirt - mostly because of the colour.

More of a Biker looking Jacket. Jeans and Cord no problem, but not much more than that imo. Maybe Chinos tops.

As part of an overall causal outfit? Yes.

That jacket would look good with a range of slacks, even wool flannel.
