Seeking a little advice on whether this shirt and tie combo matches or if it's a little too much.

I might be wrong too, but I think it's that the patterns are both kind of small. If one article was solid or had a much larger pattern I think it would work better.

Somebody with a clue will surely weigh in soon.

I'm not feeling it either. You would have to tie them together with something. A navy sweater might do the trick...but I'd have to look at it to see how that works. Anyway, I'm interested in what some of the veterans think.

The trouble is that both patterns are incredibly busy. Notice that the striped shirt is a fairly elaborate multi-stripe and the tie is of a dense and intricate pattern. I think easing up on one parameter would improve things.

I agree about the patterns. Most of it for me is coming from the tie. Maybe a solid shirt with striped tie, or vice versa. I do like the colors, though.

The way I advise my client's is that if you have to ask, it probably doesn't match. If you are ever in doubt, look in the mirror, if what you see looking back at you makes sense, it's a winner. If there's a doubt, choose something else, otherwise you'll we walking round all day with a nagging doubt in your mind, which will damage your confidence.

Does not match. Both shirt and tie have complicated patterns going on, and both in the same relatively small scale. It is dizzying. Do not wear.

Shirt is ugly.
Tie can be worn with navy suit and white shirt.

My opinion would be mute, since I think the tie is fugly. Like the shirt though.
