If this NMLC is in an outlet mall like most you should consider stopping by the mall office and signing up for their frequent shopper program for additional discounts.

Apparently the universe loves me, they were there and more beautiful then I remembered them. The Universe also gave me a very nice Zegna mainline suit in about a 40R (Looks to be a MTM that was never picked up). Will be in B&S tonight. I'll leave you with a quote from my fiance "Asking those guys [Sytleforum] if you should buy shoes is like going to asking a crack-head if you should get some more crack. Of course they'll say yes, and they'll ask you to stop by afterwards."

It's a sign of my SF addiction that having read your first post, I was actually emotionally invested in you getting these shoes. ha

Glad to hear you were rooting for me. It really was a spectacular find, what are the odds that the nicest shoes I've ever seen at NMLC would fit me perfectly.

Also, if anyone has shoe polish recommendations I'd love to hear them, color is listed on the box as "Chocolate"

Stick with Saphir, the stuff rocks. A little goes a long way though.

I heard recently someone was having trouble getting the site that sells them in the US to load properly. Prob just a temp server issue.

get some shots of you wearing them posted in the shoe porn thread soon!

The universe wants you to post your coupon.

The coupon is only good today, and only at the outlet in Allen, TX. But if anyone's interested here it is:

    It was meant to be.

I think you may also have a contender for a genuine pair of 'lucky shoes'. I'd try them out at a day at the races.

Fantastic! I am glad you scored them. As for polish they look cordovan colored to me. You could go with cordovan or brown. Saphire if you can get it. I use Meltonian Shoe Cream and a variety of waxes. I do plan on getting some Saphir and other stuff from Franco's.

    Good luck!

Maybe it's the tax guy in me that's saying this, but you should be especially thankful that you were able to use pre-tax money for this purchase. I won't get into the possible negative consequences from getting money out of a 401K in this manner (probably no big deal).

I'm not a religious man, but recent events have let me to believe that some force in the universe wants me to buy a beautiful pair of John Lobbs.

About 2 weeks ago while at Nieman Marcus Last Call I tried on an awesome pair of brown Oxfords. They fit me perfectly, but alas, even at 50% off $700 was too much for me to spend on a pair of shoes. I put them back reluctently, and promised to return at a later date should circumstances change.

Dreaming of these shoes I checked my email today to discover a coupon from Nieman Marcus last call for 40% of any one item, good only tomorrow, and only at the store where I found my lovely shoes.

Also today was another email from Fidelity, stating that they had sent me a withdrawl check. I previously had a 401k account at Fidelity, but had transfed the balance to my new 401k account about 2 years ago. Curious as to what this was about I called customer service. Apparently there had been some kind of error when they had transfered my balance, and $400 had been sitting unknown in that account for the last 2 years. Their policy was to cash out accounts under $1000 that had been untouched for a certain period of time. My current 401k doesn't allow indirect deposits, so I'm stuck with the $400.

So basically on the same day I recieved a coupon that will take my dream shoes down to $400, and $400 from the heavens to pay for them.

Coincidence, or sign of a higher power?

True, all things considered I would have rather they transfered the money correctly 2 years ago, but my 401k is healthy and won't miss $400 too much (I know I'll rue that when I'm 70 and I'm $400 compounded over 40 years short of affording my lifesaving cancer surgery). They've allready taken out the 30% early withdrawl penalty, so I'm only going to be on the hook for about $100 more in taxes at year end.

and really they could have just kept the money and I'd never have known.
