Does Santoni run large?

Answer is probably 'it depends' and I'l defer to other members with much more extensive experience with all of the Santoni models.

I've only worn the Santoni FAMs, where a size 8 winds up being a perfect fit for my normally sized 8.5 foot.

I don't own any, but I tried ones, I don't know the name of the model but they were wholecuts, and they were like one number larger, I usually wear 7 or 8 depending on the brand, but this ones were 7 and were very big, I think it depends on the model.

Santoni FAM sizing can vary quite a bit. Sometimes the wider elongated lasts need a complete size down, many need only half a size down, some of the narrow lasts are true to size.

it depends on who you are comparing to i suppose, they are probably on the largish side, but so are lots of brands. bally tend to fit small in my experience and paul smith large, they are certainly not as large as branchini's.

i think they run big. i have a small foot and the smallest size i could find in the black jadwin's i own was a half size larger than what i normally where. i needed to send a search party in to find my foot at the end of the evening. lovely shoes, though.

I'm a tight 10 in AE and a very comfortable 10 in Santoni, and 10.5 in some other shoes, so they seem large to me

I'm usually a 12D but my 12D goodyear welted Santoni Griffin tan socked captoes were narrow like a 12C. A year of occasionally painful wear and shoe tree stretching was required before they fit like a glove width wise. They were always fine length-wise. 5 years later with a complete resole they look and feel great.

I own them and sell them and I find the statement to be accurate.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
