So had no idea of collar size etc so went down to the shop. Women tells me I'm a 16 so off I go looking for shirts. Bought 10 or so.

Now, when I sit down and lean forward, the back is coming up and it looks a little loose at the front. What do you guys think?

Never mind two fingers, I can pull this much away from the shirt.

Women tells me I'm a 16 so off I go looking for shirts.

This woman probably tells her husband to buy really short, tight, black suits, and to wear them with L.L. Bean boat shoes. Because some pop culture idol was dressed that way at the recent People's United MTV Television Choice Youth Trend Recognition Rocking The Vote for Africa While Fighting Global Warming Across America and Taking Back the Night for the Right to Marry Awards show. :)

In other words, the collar's too large.

Bought 10 or so.
A larger initial purchase than perhaps you should have made, given that you don't really have much experience in buying dress shirts*, but I guess it's about as easy to return 10 shirts, as it is to return 1.

* I assume you're not too experienced at buying dress shirts, since you note that you had no idea what your collar size was. Typically, someone who is experienced at buying dress shirts for himself will know such a detail.

Stuck a tape measure around my neck and said it etc. I've never bought any dress shirts before just L . M etc. Going to try a 15 and 15.5 and see how they are. Lesson learned, I guess!
