Does Burberry ever go on sale?

Im talking about from their site, as I live in the middle of nowhere, and access to a decent store is difficult. Ive been eying one particular trench, but its just out of my price range. Alot of others have gone on sale, but not this one. Im wondering what happens when the 09-10 fall line is released,...
do they stop selling this years? Or will they then cut down the cost?

Im willing to wait to the end of summer for a sale.

Cheers;

matters which coat. Classics tend to not go on sale through venders. You may be able to find it at a dept store on markdown though.

I don't know the different lines they have, but most all the Burberry is always on sale some where. Saks/Off 5th especially.

The retail fronts aren't going to do you much good at "sales". Your best bet is department stores, which has stuff on sale occasionally at the end of season. Also check places like Nordstrom Rack, Off-5th, etc. By the time it gets there, though, sizes may be limited.

If you're only buying for the name or similar look, the Burberry outlet has cheaper items but they're not really Burberry. They're made specifically for the factory store but carry the Burberry brand, so the quality will not be the same as the mainline stuff.

The official web site also has sales from time to time.

Regarding the factory stores, they do carry some items that are only made for the factory store, but they also carry some items, including some Burberry Prosum, from the previous seasons stock at the actual retail stores. I know this because I have been to the outlet in Cabazon near Palm Springs a half dozen times, and sometimes they have some excellent finds. I'also asked the store manager who confirmed this.

Sorry, I should've mentioned like many other outlet stores, Burberry may have some regular merchandise at its outlets at limited quantities. YMMV.

Its not real burberry? Of course it is. Thats like saying marc by marc jacobs isnt real marc jacobs. Just because it is a lower quality, doesn't mean its not real. Burberry London quality in general is not really that great anyway.

Burberry also has sales at its regular stores once or twice a year. Usually decent discounts in the 25% to 40% range. You might be able to find more of the classical stuff during these times.

This is true. I picked up a cashmere toggle coat reduced from $1,400 to $400 last year. I was quite pleased. Also picked up a cashmere sportcoat two years ago reduced from $1,000 to $300. In both cases, I believe it was the final markdown in mid/late January.

+1 for the outlets. If there is one in your area, Saks Off 5th and Neiman Marcus Last Call have a lot of Burberry, and also Hickey Freeman, who makes suits for Burberry (thought that's what I heard.)

Usually you can get this stuff at 50%-70% off, from what I've seen.

Ugh, well heres my predicament. I love this burberry trench...however it costs about 1300 Canadian. Now.... I CAN afford it, however, I'm a student and it would be great if I could wait a little while and it'd be cheaper. However,..I am nervous it may be removed from circulation if I wait too long.

Yeah, I'd say you may need to plan a trip: if it sells, it won't be on sale online.

Where do you find Prosrum stuff, though?

Check the B/S Forum here. I've seen a couple since I joined. Also check your better consignment stores. I purchased a brown below the knee trench with the zip in warmer for $80.
