Does black cordovan age well?

I know the browns in general do, but have not had experience with black cordovans over an extended period of time.

It's the same material. It will age much the same.

If you're wondering about patina, the shoes are black. They will stay black.

Why is it the burgundy shell lightens over time, but the black doesn't? Does it come from black horses? (Serious question)
