Does anyone's belt do this?

I'm not sure why, but whenever I wear a pair of pants that fits nicely, the belt causes the back of the waist to "pinch." It looks terrible. Does this happen to anyone else? What am I doing wrong? Is the belt too tight?

the only time this happens to me is when i have the belt too tight or the pants are too big and the belt bunches up the fabric.

Yep, you might wanna think about about taking your pants in a little.

Does this happen with just one particular belt or does it happen with all of your belts?

Loosen the belt 1 notch. The belt is really there more as an accessory, not to physically hold your pants up.

Well, damn. I think your input has helped me figure this out. See, I have a pretty slim waist (31.5 inches across navel), but my hips, quads, and gluts are pretty muscular; therefore, I cannot fit my legs into many normal pants in 32 unless the pant is a loose fit version. I'm guessing this causes extra fabric in the waist, which pinches/bunches after tightening my belt.

It happens with all my belts size 32, but it does happen particularly with some pants. Though not necessarily the loosest pants...

I have a similar issue- lean and muscular. My tailor has pointed out it can be solved in a totally bespoke trouser otherwise, take them in so they fit snugly then, as said above, wear the belt as accessory.

However, if you are like me and weightlift, and go through cycles of bulking and cutting, I live with pants that are a little big in the seat once or twice a year- otherwise I'd ruin them with alterations.

I might eventually switch to braces, but I'm only 24 and don't want to come across as pretentious.

I think I'm going to follow the above advice and have my trousers taken in at the waist and wear a larger belt as an accessory. Still, can't afford to do that with my jeans and business casual stuff.

What do you guys pay to have your waist taken in? Does $16 sound reasonable?
