I just picked up an awesome suede blazer from a Ralph Lauren store literally a couple hours ago. I tried it on when I got home, and when I was unbuttoning the blazer, the top button fell off. I really like this blazer but I am shocked at how easily the button fell off. The string must have been frayed, or the $1300 MSRP really doesn't match it's quality. It doesn't look like an easy fix though.
So I was wondering what is reasonable to ask the store associate? Do RL stores have in-house tailors that can fix this, and if they do, is it reasonable to ask them to do it free of charge? If not, is it reasonable to ask for a return since it was defective? Man, I really liked this blazer too....
