Does anyone actually use shirt suspenders?

Or whatever they're called - the on-sock brace to keep your shirt tucked in. I was considering giving them a try - but I'd be interested in some wear stories, especially horror stories

They are more common in the military. I don't know of anyone outside of that that use them.

Aside from the potential for crippling accidents, consider your mortification if it is was discovered you were wearing them. Is that a conversation you really want to have? With anyone?


I suggest the snug-tex alternative.

I used to wear them - frankly, once I lost weight I didn't have any problem with my shirt coming out, so I stopped wearing them

Certainly a sobering thought, and many other thoughts come to mind regarding otherwise simple everyday tasks. (e.g. how do you take a dump if you aren't prepared to take them off completely? Do you have to, like, fall onto the seat with your legs still straight out?) I was curious to see if anyone did actually wear them on a regular basis.

I've bought pants before, that had the above linked material in them. Worked, but, added more heft around the waist.

I'm curious too (although, I've found that a well tailored shirt stays tucked it 95% of the day)

I used them when I was in the Marine Corps, but only with the class C uniform which was green trousers and a khaki shirt. The shirts were a bit full cut and the suspenders kept the look trim. You don't take them off to use the toilet, just pull each one to the side. No problems.

I have never considered using them in civilian life.

Makes sense. Although, I get dressed at the locker room at the gym before work in the mornings and I don't feel like I'd want to put those on around other men...

Seriously?? Had to goole and I'm a little astonished that such a thing even exists. What are people doing that they need such a thing? Playing basketball? Pole vaulting? Trying to high five the moon?
