Dockers D1 vs D2 vs Alpha -- Best khaki that isn't tight?

I'm looking at dockers and trying to figure out which fit is best for me. I've tried on D3 in the past and it just has too much room. I'm a reasonably thin/average guy with a very small pot belly that's not noticeable, I'm 5'8 at 165lbs. I'm scared to try the D1 and Alpha collection because I don't want it too look very tight on me, I want there to be some space in the legs and seat but not like sloppy baggy pants if you know what I mean.

Any suggestions?

D2 is basically their version of a "straight fit", I like the way the D1 and Alpha fit better, if your usual size doesn't fit properly you could size up and have the waist tailored.
