I don't know if this is being a little too cautious or not, but I've got a bunch of new clothes as christmas presents: underwear, pajamas and sweaters. Do you all wash new clothes before you wear them?

I think I will do this with the underwear and pajamas. Is this being overly cautious? lol. I know this will get some sarcastic responses, but it's actually a serious question of mine. Thanks!

Yes unless they're sweaters, coats, or something not very easily washed. Usually soak colored and unsanfordized jeans.

Cautious in what way? What are you afraid of?

I don't wash anything before I wear it unless I want to shrink it.

I would if I didn't have to wrangle up 2$, and try to come up with a full load of clothes.

Not if they're fairly new on the rack or just came in, yes if they're sales **** on deep discount that have been handled by tons of dirty ass fools in LA.

Definitely with underwear/undershirts.

It depends with dress shirts. If they're wrinkled and creased, I'll throw them in the wash.

Never with sweaters.

I do wash. Pretty much everything, although I don't bother with something like a new jacket. But pants, shirts, underwear, yeah I wash.

Yes, but because I absolutely hate any kind of starch, sizing, or stiffness to my wears. No real fear of creepy crawlies, because I figure by the time said piece of clothing reached me even the herpe would have died off the article.

I wash things if I want them to shrink, I don't wash things that I don't care about as much. In this weather I don't do nearly as much washing. I have loads of underwear, socks, and undershirts... And I don't wash sweaters and things every wear (every 2 or 3) so I usually have enough stuff for like a week and a half or 2 weeks between washes. I'm a student, whatever.

Unless it's underwear, as almost everyone else has stated, yes that gets a wash.
