The recent threads on Cap Toe Boots and How common are ankle boots and in what settings? got me to wondering about whether I could find a pair of AE Brantleys like these:

So I strolled down to Altman's Shoes on Monroe Street in Chicago to see if they had a pair in my size (9.5EEE). The didn't,. But tio my pleasant surprise after two checks of Altman's vast stock rooms, they did have one pair remianing in a 10.5D. The fit was close. So I bought them and wore them on the carpet for while. But I had to return them beucase they were just not wide enough.

So if one of you gentlemen is interested in this pair of AE Brantleys , this pair was $285 + tax (or shipping if you're outside Illinois). And last I checked this past Wednesday, they are still available at Altman's.

If you're interested, call Altman's Shoes in Chicago at +1 (312) 332-0667. Ask for Phil or Carlos and tell them you're calling about their last pair of Brantleys.

^^ 4 IIRC. One of the last threads here or at AAAC should have it for sure. If not, call Altman's and they'll tell you.
