Do you use the same horse hair brush for different color shoes?

Spring for separate brushes. The big difference is between darker and lighter colored shoes.

Yes I do. I learned the hard way by getting black streaks on my brown shoes that were hard to get out.

I have always used the same brush for all shoes. No streaking issues that I recall and one brush takes up alot less space than 2 or 3 or 4....

How much space do multiple brushes take up??? As others have said it's wise to have at least two different brushes (one black & one brown). I store all my polish, rags and brushes inside those plastic shoebox containers that have lids and are easily stackable...

I've been doing the two brush routine to this point. I'm glad to hear true reason, and that it wasn't purely obsessive.
