I've made women laugh continuously and they wouldn't sleep with me, but maybe that has to do with other things.

what a coincidence! i offer women to sleep with me and they laugh continuously!! [IMG]

GQg: not to burst your bubble, but I think this scenario leads to disappointment and heartache. I'll wager your insistence that this is "not a date" has reassured her that it is, indeed, not a date. For that reason, she does not see a need to inform you of her orientation. I hope I am wrong.

Crank your hopes back down a little bit and go have fun. And as others have said, just let happen what happens.

If she agreed to go dancing with you then, not only is it a date, she is also attracted to you too. She would have declined otherwise as she likely gets many offers as you suspect. If you don't screw it up and continue entertaining her and maintaining the chemistry that night, she will sleep with you. After the dance lessons, I would not go to a club but to a quieter bar, lounge, resto... to have a little more intimacy and one-on-one conversation and make her feel comfortable enought to go back to your place (or hers). Just have fun like you seem to have been doing all along and you'll be fine - enjoy!

edit: btw, whatever you do, do not get all romantic and sappy with her. If she is indeed les/bi, then treat it as good casual sex between friends and see where it goes. You will scare her off if she thinks you are falling hard for her.

i'd just enjoy the moment and see where this ends up, without really expecting anything.

I disagree with that generalization. Having been into the local swing/lindy "scene" for many years, a lot of girls will go out with a guy dancing/taking lessons, but they don't see it as a date. At some point I imagine GQgeek will ask her out to dinner, and then there will be no question it is a date and he'll know whether she's interested or just a "really cool chick" that has no romantic interest. If you keep your social activites to just dancing you'll never really know what her intentions are.

    GQgeek,

first of all, how credible are your sources who have indicated that she might be gay? I´m not sure if I understand this correctly, but for my part I really have to say that I wouldn´t keep too much faith with someone who talks about other peoples´ sexual preferences in such a unreserved manner like the gay guy seems to have done.
I hope this will not turn out to be a disappointed to you, especially since you already seem to be more emotionally involved than it might be healthy for you. In any case, try to slow down a little.

Perhaps that's true in a more general case (or with people familar with the scene, which she is not) but if this chick is the hottest, ex-model, hairdresser that gets hit on all the time by clients, I believe she understands that agreeing to go dancing with one implies a certain degree of interest in more than just a "friendly" outing.

Ah, I miss my hometown sometimes... or maybe it's a misplaced nostalgia for those bygone bachelor days, which I would never trade for my life now.

She slept with you on the first date globe? I wonder if bi-sexual women treat sex more casually that hetero women... Not that I'm even going to try on our first time out together. I really like this girl so I'm not going to rush it. How did it end btw?

story I haven't told in years, but I think a pretty good story:

I'm 19, a soldier, pretty horny, and in all in all really good shape. i have a nice uniform and a pretty red beret. anyway, I meet this girl, who is pretty hot, red haired, wearing a skirt. we talk, flirt a little, and I offer to buy her a drink - this was in the middle of jerusalem, where there is an area with street muscisians and people selling art and stuff. we sit down to have a drink, and she tells me that she is in town for a wedding of a friend, who she met at a religious high school (she is american, and had studied at a relgious high school in israel for american girls). so, I figure, ok, relgious girl, I just wasted a drink. but we sit there for a few hours, and it is very nice, she seems really nice, and into me, but the whole time I am figuring that she is religious and so nothing is going to happen. (by the way, this ties in with last years thread about religous girls)

anyway, about midnight, I start walking her "home" - it turns out she is staying in the dorm of her old school for the weding weekend. this is the dorm room of a religious girls high school, remember. so, we get to the dorm, and she lets me in, but warns me we have to be quiet. we sit i the little kichenette for an hour or so, and drink some wine that was in the fridge. and then she says "you know, I'm not going to sleep with you", which, considering that I hadn't said anything about it, I figured was actually a good sign. she continued "nothing personal, I just prefer girls". which totally blew me away. so, she tells me how she slept with 8 guys during her year at religious high school, went home and started NYU and discovered girls, and liked that alot more. so, i basically, like any good horny 19 year old, said something along the lines of "well, how about we fool around?", and after maybe 5 minutes, she said "well, ok, you can fuck me, but don't think that you are going to convert me or anything" (the essence of romance). so, end up having sex on a single ben, in a room full of religious high school girls, and end up waking a few of them up, with all the accompaning screems and screaches. in the middle, she had the presence of mind to tell me that she still prefered girls.

the other one was a girl I had known for years, who was pretty hot, but in a quiet way. I asked her out, and she said "zach, I have a girlfriend"

Don't get me wrong, I really like the girl in that she's super-cool and tons of fun to talk to, but when I say she's basically my dream girl it's b/c she's got everything I've been holding out for: looks, charisma, wit, and a great sense of humour. However, I'm not emotionally involved b/c I've known what the odds were from the start. I'm treating this in a manner that if it goes somewhere, awesome, if not, no biggie, because she's still a ton of fun to hang-out with.

And my sources are very credible. They weren't randomly gossiping; I expressed interest in the girl and having known her a long time they tried to ward me off by saying that many guys had tried and been shot down. However Mr.Gayman upon hearing the news said that he was pretty confused that she agreed to go dancing, not just b/c she's going with me (a man), but b/c he's known her a long time and it's never been her thing.

Get Smart, those girls that agree to go dancing with a guy, are they also part of the scene? The girl that told me dancing wasn't a date is in to the salsa scene, but my hairdresser has never been in any dancing scene her whole life (she doesn't dance), so I'm not sure she's aware of the casual nature of it and the fact that going out dancing isn't a date.

Anyway, I'm hoping EL turns out to be right ;p She's the best looking girl in the place, and so I'm sure she's gotten plenty of invitations of various sorts from guys in the past. As far as I know, she's never gotten gone out with any of the guys from there.

At this point, I think the best advice so far is that she's already going out with me so just don't screw it up.

And Globe, nice story. It just goes to show that you should never rule anybody out, which is what 9/10 people told me to do with this girl before she agreed to go out with me.
