If the MC thread was an attempt to get more prominance on your item and thereby allow you to relist it and get the higher price you were looking for (ie free advertising), then it's justified.

IMO, I think the MC thread just got a little out of hand (only a little) and you probably should have just asked for opinions and left it at that. Relisting the item afterwards was the bad move IMO.

Let's say I was in a bar, needed cash to keep drinking and offered my watch for sale. Bris: here, I'll sell you my watch Manton: Burnt my fingers, man. Bris: I beg your pardon? Manton: Man, that watch is so hot, it's smokin'. Bris: Hot? Do you mean to imply stolen? Manton: I'll give you 50 bucks for it. Bris: Fifty bucks? No, no, no. This is a Rouchefoucauld. The thinnest water-resistant watch in the world. Singularly unique, sculptured in design, hand-crafted in Switzerland, and water resistant to three atmospheres. This is *the* sports watch of the '80s. Six thousand, nine hundred and fifty five dollars retail! Manton: You got a receipt? Bris: Look, it tells time simultaneously in Monte Carlo, Beverly Hills, London, Paris, Rome, and Gstaad. Manton: On B&S, it's worth 50 bucks. Bris [to others in the bar]: how much do you think this watch is worth? Fok: Throw this jerk out of here. Bris [from the sidewalk to patrons]: Hey, do you think that was fair?

I never relisted the item. What gave you that idea? I actually stopped bumping it and removed it from my sig once the thread got out of hand (covered already). This is the sort of half-ass reading I'm talking about.

I know its not much of a market but you could pm those that previously purchased from you. I would defintely appreciate a seller pm-ing his wares with regards on my previous purchases. Sorta like amazon.

Police on sidewalk [to bouncer/bartender/patrons]: We'll escort this raving lunatic, who keeps muttering about a watch/jacket no one is interested in, out of here. Bouncer/bartender/patrons [applauding]: Thanks, now we can get back to spending our time as we'd like.

I then started another thread in MC asking what people thought it was worth. A bunch of newbs with no experience with Cantarelli started saying it was thrifted, from the 1800s and not worth more than $50.

I disagreed. Nonsense ensued.

I asked for the opinions of folks with Cantarelli experience. That was clouded by the perpetual agreement thatno one wanted this coat.

I removed the item from my sig and decided to keep it.

Other established seller chimed in and suggested I either put it on eBay or on B&S to see what it fetches (which I had already done the latter, which was the reason to start the thread, but they had chimed in too late)

I was notified that I was forumbanned and have to pay $300 to undo it.

Butter stalked me around many threads not letting this go (and I suspect, reported the thread)

Poll thread was started.

Why do you have to pay $300?
