I hate checks, there is no reason for them these days you have no float time so whats the point just use the debit.

I write a check for my bills; but, not to shop or grocery store.

You know, I agree about the nostalgia, but I don't think that makes it appropriate to make others wait because you want to wade in anachronistic pleasure.

Not in everyday transactions. Debit when I can, cash when I have to (like when my debit is maxed). I'm scared of credit cards.

Well I found another use for checks: US passport renewals. Gotta get mine done for my Tibet trip. They don't take cash or credit cards.

I imagine the visa fee ($130) for the entry to China will also require a check.

+1. How about it Conne? Have you done the right thing?

I have a cash-back credit card, so I put everything I can on my CC. I do need to pay some utilities by check and my tailor will only take checks.

I wonder if that is what happened at the FL Wendy's.

I don't do any direct debit for any of my bills. I right them checks every month. The only other time I pay with checks is for hired help (ie. cleaning lady, garderner, etc.).
