Do you still steal music?

Just wondering who still steals music? Do you download? Do you rip your friends CD's? or Do you still buy real CD's, or Itunes.

I admit I don't have much moral fiber when it comes to things like music. I download it without a bit of remorse. I just can't bring myself to pay for something I can have for free.

I don't think the reality is this cut and dried. I chose the last option but even then it doesn't really explain my habits. Typically, I'll download an album just to see if I even like it because usually it's from a band that I know little to nothing about. If the stuff sticks then about 70% of the time I'll buy the next album or at least check it out to see if it's worth getting.

The thing is I don't need cds at all since they only pile up collecting dust as tribute payments to bands I care to support.

yeah its kinda hard to pick cut and dried poll choices.
I almost exclusively download a song here and there for random bands. but when I get a band I really like, I usually will buy a physical cd (still not a fan of itunes). I dont see myself continuing that this year too much, but I like being able to throw a disc on in the car. I have an ipod hook up through my stereo which is pretty solid, but with over 5K songs on it, its kind of a pain ********** to find a specific album quickly while I am driving.

There is enough free podcasts and free concerts and free dj sets available for download... that stealing music is not even required. 99.9% of the music i listen to is available in free podcast form. For everything else, i would purchase legally. But i specifically listen to music that is available for free (legally) so that i am not required to make these moral choices.

This is where i get my music... sweet!

The below link is House music. I get the Rap music from podcasts. All the other music i listen to i have owned for years.

I have a lot of friends in the music industry so i try not to disrespect them by stealing.

With all the money I have spent on concert tickets, vinyl, tapes, CD's and other band merchandise over the years I don't look at it as stealing but rather as being paid back.

90 percent of the stuff on my iTunes is paid for or legal downloads. The rest is a combination of compilations made by friends or MP3s I've found on unauthorised music blogs. Like whodini, if I do take something illegally and like it, I'll more often than not buy the next CD. I don't think €10 is a lot for an album, especially compared to what I paid for LPs and CDs when I was a youngster.

I might think differently if I was younger or a student, or if I was one of those people who isn't happy unless they have 100 new tunes a day. But at present, I'm buying fewer than five albums a month so cost isn't an issue.

I borrow mp3s, but I always send them back to the artist when I'm done with them. Oh wait. NVM.

I buy if it's something I already know that I like. If it's unknown, I download. Most of the music on my HD is classical ripped lossless from the original CDs.
