Do you prefer cuffs on your cotton trousers?

I agree with this. Since joining SF, I have been getting 1.75-2" cuffs on all of my wool trousers. Whereas I used to go cuffless, uncuffed pants now look ugly and unfinished to me.

But what about cotton trousers? I am tempted to get cuffs for the sake of consistency with the rest of my wardrobe, but I rarely see anyone wear cuffed cotton pants, and I'm unsure how it would look with a casual ensemble (with polo shirts etc).

Thoughts? Do you guys do cuffs with cotton?

Yes. Cuffs for me on everything except jeans or 5-pocket jean cut casual trousers.

I wear boots a lot and often prefer no-cuffs on those. Therefore I have a mix of both, but it's probably 65% cuffs and 35% without.

Mix. I have some cotton incos with 2" cuffs and some cotton trews from HY which have a plain top stich. I some times like rolling up my pants in warmer weather to show off my sexy ankles, which looks better with non-cuffed pants.

No cuffs on jeans and one or two pairs of khakis that go in the washing machine.

All my better cotton pants are dry cleaned and all have cuffs for better drape. I also like the detail on a solid colored pant, especially with lighter colors.

I'm not a fan of cuffs, primarily because everyone I see wearing a $100 suit has cuffed trousers. But this is one of those rare things in sartorialism that is completely a matter of personal preference. Unlike pleats, which are horrible without exception, there's no right or wrong here. Get whichever you like.

Most of mine are cuffed. I keep a couple pairs not cuffed so I can roll them in the summer time. I just think the cuff looks a little better than no cuff.

I don't cuff, but that's because I'm short. I like the style and would if I could but can't.

How about just flipping up the hem so it looks like a "casual" cuff? Best of both worlds!

Cuffs on everything. I actually press them on casual khakis, which is annoying for pants that're otherwise worn out of the dryer...but whatever.

No.

They are deemed more informal and thus turn ups dispensed with.
