Do you place any value in dreams/dreaming?

So I've had a few vivid dreams lately and I have to admit they've affected me somewhat, perhaps more than I'm willing to admit, but it lead me to wonder what stock others place in dreaming, whether it's just a short-lived pleasure or something more significant. So I'd like to ask, what value do you personally place in dreams or dreaming as a process? And can you recall a particular dream that has had an impact on you?

I don't place any value in them. They are occasionally nice, but they don't reveal any deeper truths about me that I don't already know.

I don't put any value at them at all. besides, I barely remember them anyway when I wake up.

what is peculiar to me are dreams about departed family/friends. someone in our family dreamt of my mother in law, asking how she was and in return my mother in law told her what to do with her remains, along with other, uhm, requests. I know there is an obvious scientific/logical explanation with this, but it just seems so peculiar to me.

I have recurring dreams about plane crashes. When I have one, I'm usually on a plane that is in a nosedive, though I've also had them where I'm on the ground and I see a plane crash.

I don't think they mean anything at all, but I'd be lying if I said they're not in the back of my mind every time I board a plane.

I rarely remember mine. Sometimes they are of the most mundane things possible. Like a simple daily affair, but a bit more surreal.

I don't pay much attention to them, except for the interesting fact of how uninteresting they are.

The ones I actually remember usually involve me ********** with some girl I've never seen before. My mind must of made her up. Sometimes it is a girl I know.

I did have one about a month ago that involved me making a hamburger with sauteed mushrooms, grilled pineapples, and an egg. I don't know why the egg as I'd never ate a burger or seen a burger with an egg in it before (loco moco doesn't count). In the dream it was good. When i woke up, I went to the kitchen and made the hamburger with egg (didn't have any mushrooms or pineapples on hand though). It was actually pretty good.

My dreams are very Lynchian. I had one the other day where I was sitting outside at a table on some type of boardwalk while I was eating a salad. Some men in hardhats came over and asked me if I could stand up for a second. I obliged, and they slid the table I was sitting on over to the side and opened up a manhole that was underneath it. Then they started unloading body limbs out of a van and threw them inside. I just stood there until they stopped and then they waved goodbye. Meredith Viera was there playing the piano and she was disturbed that they were making too much noise.

I forget anything I dreamed about right after waking up, even if I try to remember it.

What freaks me out is when I recognize something I'm doing during the day as being from a dream. Either talking with people, driving, whatever. Usually when meeting new people or driving in new places. It will be a flash of about 30 seconds to a minute of the situation being dejavu. Happens allllll the time. Don't really think into it too much though.

I can almost never remember dreams after I've been up for a few minutes, however if I did I'd like to think I wouldn't put any value into them. Sometimes I find certain things are incorporated into them that I'm thinking about, or noises going on around me that creep into my dream but I don't think they're a window to the subconscious.

I don't think dreams are symbolism for the subconscious, rather recent information/experience made into the form of dreams. The subconscious does come forth during sleep, but I've found it to happen during nights when I'm not dreaming (often). I feel more refreshed and calm during the day if there was a dream.
