Do you limit the color pallete of your wardrobe?

I apologize if this doesn't deserve a thread but I am genuinely curious. Do your wardrobes contain a rainbow of colors and shades? Do you limit yourself to select colors? Is there a certain color you would never wear? I've looked in my wardrobe and noticed I don't any yellow clothing. Should a full wardrobe contain every color for every possible mood?

My personal preference is to tend away from earthly colored shirts ex. dark browns, greens, reds because I want the color contrast with my chocolaty skin.

I like the idea of having a few variations of all the primary colors in your collection, but it seems in mine I forgot red. Don't own a single piece of red clothing. Hmmm.

I have many-many colors, but I don't wear all of them. For example, I wear yellow a lot, but shy away from purple items I have. I don't limit the color pallet I have, but I try not to buy ugly-looking colors (e.g. express shirts

Brown is my kryptonite colour. The colour of shite. I don't have a single item of brown, including shoes and belts and I never will. Other people can pull it off but it's not for me.

I will more likely avoid certain hues(?) of colors. Ie I find pastels or light shades sort of wash me out.

I can't fathom not having a single brown item. I love brown. It's so versatile and I think it looks great with everything.

Red for some strange reason. I do not have a single red item.

Same here. Blue, black, & grey are my go-to colours for my wardrobe. And 99% of my dress shirts are white. For my ties, I add a bit more colour, such as red, purple, or green. I don't really like pink, brown, or yellow.

I am Caucasian and pale so I cannot pull off some colours that I enjoy seeing others wear.
For me, pastel green, tans, yellows, orange and plain white are colours I watch others enjoy.
Men of colour have such an advantage over me because of the much wider spectrum of colour they can put next to their skin.
Part of the fun for me though, is seeing others pull off colours I can't.
Otherwise, I like to expore the world of colours as much as possible.
That is, unless I am with my S.O. where I will go to the muted and dark stuff to let her shine.

Mostly buy shades of blue, grey and white keeps it simple, means I don't have to think too much one packing to go away or getting dressed. I don't really enjoy the multiple bright patters/colours on me although it looks great on others. That said I do have a few brightly coloured shirts and jumpers so I am not totally dull and mono colour.

For dress shirts I wear almost exclusive light blue in different styles, with a white and pale pink just in case. White washes me out, but obviously some occassions require it. I'm a little pink myself, so pink isn't great even though I like it for shirting.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
