I don't know, maybe I'm seeing things. It may just be because you spread your arms a bit to show the waist suppression. Ignore me. But if it feels uncomfortable, take it back. Seems to me you usually pick the right size (what you think is too big) and you just need the waist taken in.

What maker is this suit? Perhaps you need another cut?

(bryce330 @ Feb. 14 2005,03:54) I like the suit but for God's sake undo the top button of your shirt if you're going to wear it without a tie.
Do you take me for a red neck? I would never wear it without a tie. I feel tight at the armhole when I move my arm in front of me for exemple. I do not feel very confortable when I sit neither. I am used to wear 52 and this one is a 50 Â (52 is a little bit to large at the level of the first button in general) I think I will bring it back. I like the fabric and I got 65% off. What a pity.
Ernest, Ernest, Ernest... You may not know that this is a terrible Faux Pas but French people are never allowed to use the term redneck. You can't say redneck unless you are one. I are one so it's cool... Seriously, if Alabama and Texas (not to mention the rest of the Southern US) were to invade Paris it would take like 10 minutes... then rednecks would be callin you "Boy" and such.... you just don't want that. As to the jacket it looks too tight but my guess is that it feels too tight - if it is not comfortable lose the suit. As to those who don't like ties? Well, that is heretical, shame on you.

This one is a 50 from Faconnable

I have 2 Faconnable in 52 which are correct. My last 2 suits are 51 and one of them is also just on the arm (they are still in the shop).

I picked up 6 Lanvins which are 1 size too large for the jachet. Now I wanted to avoid taking too large and i found too tight...

I will kill myself. I can never find a suit with the jacket and the pant correct.

The one that I told to be too large are large in the front (at the level of the first button) and in the back (on both sides), not at the waist.

Yes but... Iraqui's haven't adopted France's 'surrender first, wait for others to die liberating us' defense strategy Ernest... makes it harder. Plus, the Iraqi's seem to know how to use their French made weapons rather than dropping them and waving a bedsheet. As for the three uncles of mine buried over there in France I must say you are welcome, they were happy to help. Please be sure to drop some flowers by their graves next time you have the overwhelming urge to criticise the US. Better yet, write your government and tell them it is rude to send us a bill for maintaining their graves every year. Shutting my mouth now lest already shaky US/French relations get worse.

Most of the ones I know tend to take a similar approach to shaving as you. All you need is a Caterpillar or Redman cap and you're good to go.

E: it looks too tight at the bottom too. Shouldn't the the fabric near the buttom of the coat be nearer to its respective side? H.

I suppose you must have studied in one of the most prestigious military school to be so aware of war strategy... But you don't seem to be as aware about history as you seem to forget that without French, America would still be a British colonie... Dont' forget that it is more difficult to surrender when you are not attacked (as the you are 6 000 km from the enemy) and when you arrive 3 years after the begining of the war. But I must admit that Amercians did a great job with Indians, almost no survivors. Do you think we could do as well as you did in Japan? May be French should bomb their enemies during 3 months before sendind a soldier, it may work .

    Hello Ernest,

If you like the suit and material why don't you take it to a tailor to see if it can be adjusted for a better fit? BTW I think it looks alright, just slightly tight.

    Hello Chris,

    What BTW does mean?

Because I do not know any tailor and because I guess that you can not make a armhole larger.

BTW is short for By the way. In the past my tailor has altered jackets that have been tight under the arm by letting out the side seams, but I guess if the actual sleeve is too tight there's not much you can do.

Letting out the side seem? What is it exactly? How can you make a larger hole? It seems impossible

I don't know if the actual armhole can be altered, but a good tailor should be able to let the side seams out in order to make the jacket slightly bigger, that may be enough to give you a more comfortable fit.
