1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Only when I can get the fresh buttons, the dried ones make me gag.

Why is this not a poll like the others?

Aldous Huxley feels it would be too strict.

Mescaline is one of the few psychedelics I haven't done.

I have not tried it and have only encountered it once, but my guess is that mescaline cannot possibly be as good of a hallucinogen as LSD. LSD is the ultimate hallucinogen, rendering the inferior psilocybin (and probably mescaline) obsolete.

Do you think that people that are interested in fashion are more likely to do drugs?

Yes! Fashion people are more likely to socialise in middleclass circles and hence do drugs. Fashion makes you feel good and it makes you want to go out and socialize more.

    Now what's mescaline?

Good resource with details. I have no experience with this drug at all, so I cannot attest to the accuracy of the 'Experiences' section.

Fashion circles and middle-class don't usually correlate.

Middle-class people aren't also likely to do drugs in any ostensible form, whatever David Lynch may comment on.

Judging by the general public image of the fashion industry, yes.

    Absolutely. Fabulously.

Allow me to be more precise: is an SFer more likely to do drugs than the average person? Keeping in mind that we have a number of family men, attorneys and other "respectable" people here.

No, because SF is an internet forum, and thus we're nerdier, and thus we're less likely to do drugs.

i dunno about this - it may have been true in the past, but nerds are rapidly morphing from "complete misfits" into "slightly marginalized outcasts," and all slightly marginalized outcasts do drugs

a lotta nerds nowadays embrace the drug lifestyle (limited to marijuana and occasionally psychedelics) because it is friendly, anti-authoritarian, and (rightly or wrongly) associated w/ creative forms of expressionism

i dunno, i love me some lsd, but i also love me some mad psilocybin

to me, neither one is really inferior to the other - it's like comparing apples and oranges

a friend of mine recently made a comparison with pictures:

    this is shrooms: http://tinyurl.com/kp46h

    this is acid: http://tinyurl.com/n6c3s

it's not just the visual aspect - it's the way that it affects your thinking patterns

    Nerd is the new cool.
    mos def, my brotha
