To answer the question: Yes, I believe dinosaurs existed. In fact, I've been known to call them after enjoying a few too many libations.

Yes you (thanks Dentata!), no where did I state that I did not believe in dinosaurs. I just said I know some folks.

Truth be told, disbelief in dinosaurs is one thing that would immediately end a conversation for me.

How, exactly, are we to disprove idiotic theories if we don't discuss them? Discussing them doesn't perpetuate their stupidity, it reveals it for what it is.

Moreover, in many cases, what once was considered fact is now considered idiotic, and often the new facts are things held to be idiotic in the past. I'm not suggesting this will be the case with dinosaurs, but, had we simply closed discussion on the matter (as you recommend we do now with things thought to be idiotic), we would never have found those "facts" to be incorrect.

Your post was dumb because it attacked the OP as if he were the one pushing the theories, and he wasn't. He was simply presenting them and asking if anyone here believed in them.
