Do we always need to wash our jeans before wearing it for the first time?

Hi, i have been wearind japanese denim for the past 2 years and have always washed(hot soak) before wearing it. i have wored pbj's, samurai's and they have always turned out good.

Yesterday i received my kicking mule workshop.

i tried them on and they fit perfectly without even washing and their denim also feels light(less rigid if i can say) as compared to PBJS.

So i wanted to ask you that should i go ahed and wear it like this or should i wash it first.

your help would be highly appreciated.

Whatever floats your boat.

Some people soak ALL their jeans new. Some people soak NONE of their jeans new.

my personal choice is to soak no matter what. if it's dry denim and it's sanforized, and it fit's perfect pre-soak, i will do a warm soak. and will try them on while they are still damp, so they don't shrink too much.

depends on how tight you want them, etc.
