Do these shoes fit properly?

Are my shoes the wrong size? This is my first time wearing them and they are creasing on the toebox. Should I exchange them for another pair seeing how the right shoe does not crease on the toebox? Shoes are size 8.5, I measure an exact 10 but 9s were a little to loose.

not to take a knock at your shoes, but it could be the quality of leather that you bought. Unfortunately, most $400 and under pairs will get that same crease.

Shoes should not crease at the toebox. That's a strange cap design that I havn't seen before. Were they cheap shoes?

From what I can see, the shoes fit...roughly.

And FWIW, the shoes are NOT creasing in the toebox. The toebox is the toe stiffener and it would be highly unusual for it to be extended as far back into the forefoot as the toe cap is.

The shoe is made a little long and the toe cap is also perhaps proportionally long...although it still looks odd in my eyes. I would hate to see a shoe crease in the toe cap but that may be the price one pays for the longer look.

It's not, in my estimation, a particularly refined look regardless.

I got these at Nordstrom so they will let me exchange the shoes... I just dont want to ruin another pair if they are going to crease the same way on the middle of the captoe. I know that I should be wearing size 9, but went down to 8.5 because they were a snug fit.

Maybe I should wear toe-box decreasers on all new shoes from now on until the regular creases are all settled. Would that help?

The leather looks cheap IMO, but I may be mistaken.

A photo of this kind cannot entirely reveal whether the shoe is too big or not. The shoe may be a little too wide for your foot but the length appears, as I said previously, roughly right.

The creases that run across the foot are in the approximate correct position. If the shoe is too long the creases will tend to be too far back. If the shoe were too long for your foot the rearmost crease would be out of position relative to the "joint" of the last/shoe.

If the shoe were too short those creases would tend to be at an angle rather than running straight across the foot as they appear to be doing in this case. Also, if the shoe is too short, the creases will be too far forward...maybe even into the toe box area. Do these look or feel too short for your foot? They don't look too short to my eye.

Again, for clarification...the "toe box" is a stiffener that is sandwiched between the upper and the lining. It is not visible in this photo. No one can know definitively if the shoe is creasing the toe box but it would be unusual for the toe box to extend that far back.

You are ofcourse, correct about what and where is a Toe Box. Perhaps the OP meant to say Toe Cap or anywhere within this area? If so, I would wager that the shoes are too long for his feet. Would you agree?

So does this mean that my left foot is smaller and these shoes only fit my right foot? I am size 10 on right foot, never measured left.. but these are size 8.5 shoes. How can I stop these creases? Has anyone ever heard of shoe force-fields?

Hello,

I'm no shoe expert so take what I say with a grain of salt. I had a problem like this before and it was because my left foot was slightly smaller than my right and the shoes were a tiny bit too long. What fixed the problem for me was sizing down one size lengthwise and getting a wider size. If anything, maybe you can try to get refitted if you are unsatisfied? Nordstrom has an excellent return policy. Anyway, good luck with everything.

and in my not so professional opinion, the shoes is half size too big/long on you judging from the completely closed lacing.
