do the Sak's in NYC or DC have as crappy a selection as their website?

I just won an award at work so they offer me either cash or a gift card to Saks or Bloomingdales. The gift cards are almost double the amount of the cash prize.

I didn't really see much of anything on the Bloomies website at all. Sak's at least had good designers but their selection was crap.

Dior Homme - sunglasses only
Paul Smith - weak shoe selection
Armani - ties only
etc..... nothing that really caught my eye

Is the selection at say, the Saks Men's store in DC or the Saks in NYC really as bad or is it worth getting the gift card over the cash?

I can't account for DC but I imagine it would be more tailored clothing.

The NY is a flagship store and will have everything you'd desire.

Tailored clothing brands with its own shop in the store: Ralph Lauren, Canali, Correliani, Isaia, Loro Piana, Armani Collezioni, Zegna

Designer/contemp floor: Dior Homme, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Paul Smith, Michael Kors, Theory, Z Zegna, John Varvatos, DSquared2...plus Michael Bastian, Jil Sander, Miyake, Galliano, Miu Miu, Commes, Marc by MJ, D&G, Converse by JV

The Saks Mens Store in DC (Friendship Heights) actually has a surprisingly decent selection of streetwear - much better than their tailored clothing selection.

It's overwhelming how big it is.

The Saks Men's Store actually has a decent selection. I wouldn't say that the streetwear trounces the tailored clothing section, but they do have some.

The shoe section could use a little work, with Barker Black being their standout brand.

Both Saks and Bloomingdales in Tyson's Corner are fair, but both are better in NY.

Actually, I would personally opt for thr Bloomingdales an hit up the store in Soho when you are in NY. I have found some hard to find pieces and some sick deals there.

Saks in NY is amazing. Can't even compare the website to it. Better than Bloomies in my opinion.

SFA in NYC is far superior to Bloomie's for most things.

The stores are better than the websites, which only offer a taste of the stores' full selections.

Saks in NYC is ridiculously large. I think that the buying is subpar to Barney's, but the selection is vast. Unless you are ridiculously jaded, you'll find something you like there. Plus, the Saks First Call sale is on now, so, a lot of previously inaccessible things will be in your price range (albeit on the high end.) The NYC flagship Bloomingdales is big too, and has a lot of labels not found at other Bloomingdales. If you are looking for lower priced stuff, you might consider that. However, I would personally choose Saks.

1st cut isn't until the end of the month. The sale 2 days ago was 1 day Private Night Sale.
