They shouldn't have to say anything on the cupon, They trust in their customers not to exibit such douche like behavior.

Yup - this is what most retail establishments do. Besides, if you're looking at the same 40% coupon I'm looking at (the one that gives the discount every Wed in Oct) it clearly says on there: "No adjustments on previous purchases." You will have to return it on a Tuesday and hope it's still around on the Wednesday to use the coupon.

Where i come from its known as a "twats trick!"...... i wouldnt let you back in the shop id bar you for life for even thinking about it
