Black people mistake me for Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton all the time.

They think we all look the same

I don't think it had to do with my clothes. If I had to guess, it had to do with being Asian. It was almost as if they figured I would never notice they were staring.

It's the eyes. The I-ties think they are half-closed, so you are not really aware of your surroundings.

Well, I dunno what it was. But it was stupidly obvious and kind of creepy.

Maybe you were the first Asian they had seen not carrying Louis Vuitton?

Only ever really get stared at if I wear bright coloured socks, or more recently my tweed herringbone three piece suit, in which i got heckled by a group of people evidently in London for LFW. I admit, with my glasses, slim black tie with polka dots & clasp, with white shirt, i did look a little Thom Browne that day, although still very conservative.

Often though, on times when I believe i am dressed very conservatively, often people do stare, mainly because you are dressed well. I often hear fading remarks as I pass people by such as "What a suit". Then again, this only happens when i am wearing expensive suits and overcoats and the like, never casual clothing.

What I'd like to try is to wear my rings outside my gloves. Disraeli did this at his Parliamentary ceremony. He wore diamond rings outside his kid-skin gloves.

I feel this is one of the ultimate steps for dandyism.
