I dont know exactly what they are called, or what sport they are associated with. But i saw some young blonde haired blue eye boy today and he was wearing it.
Blueish colours, mixed with white and yellow double stripe on the cuffs and collar. He was wearing a red check lumberjack type shirt, jeans and nike sportswear.

He looked like the all american boy and i thought it was a cool look. What do you think? WHere is a good place to get this type of american college jacket?

Rugby or even the regular RL lines might have something like that. Although if it's actually school-specific, why wear something like that. A regular blue blazer is fine.

Seems to be talking about a varsity jacket. There's a couple threads on them.

Kinda like this Golden Bear version at Union Made Goods although it's not strictly traditional:

I think i like the blue one. I have wrestled with the idea of buying one for a while. But never sure where on the high street to look for them.
I dont want to mistake buy one. I want a decent one. What relevance is the word VARSITY?

It's not a college thing. It's for high schoolers. If you make the varsity sports team at your school you get a jacket.

I don't know about wearing one outside of this context though, especially if you look like you graduated high school 15 years ago or couldnt make a high school ping pong team.

So thats where the word varsity comes from! But i have seen kids wear them in films really, so it is a bit costumey looking to me.

But i will get one still im sure of it. Most shops do them as part of their range now, and i think its just a case of me finding one i like the look of.

POLK HIGH! ALL-CITY. 4 touchdowns in one game! More serious though, this one from Gant seems pretty cool. Looks more vintage prep as opposed to "stuck in HS". http://www.blackbirdballard.com/Gant...avy_16582.html The guys from Street Ettiquette pull of these jackets pretty well too. You can probably find some examples on their blog.

Actually since this thread is here anyways...

Any cheap options for decent slim varsities? (now that TOJ has no more :[) Looking in the $100-200 range.

GN, I checked out the women's. It doesn't look bad and the length is pretty perfect for me. Fit doesn't look particularly feminine....

I wonder...

Make sure the back length is good. I used to have a leather jacket that I was told was unisex but it was just a women's jacket, and the back rode up super high

I'll go try it on and see, I'm a short dude at 5'9. All of UO men's stuff have a typical 27 or 28'' length. Thanks for the headsup.

That looks ok but i dont like the big letter on it i think. The young guy i saw wear one had more colours on his jacket though. Instead of the white stripes on the cuff like the guy in your picture has, he had yellow stripes, and also double yellow stripe on the collar. The arms were white, and most of the rest was a bluish colour.
