Just bought this shirt. It fits slim but its not as slim as I would like.

This is my preferred fit:

Here is how mine looks:

If I got it tailored about how much would it cost to make it fit like that around the waist?

Honestly, the first pic is not what you want. Doesn't look right - tailoring won't get that for you, 2 sizes smaller will. :)

Seriously, looks like it's for work, and #1 is not a good look.

If you want the look of #2, you're not far off, and personally, I think your fit is just fine - get the shirt pressed and you'll be fine.

i think the shirt fits you fine
wash and dry the shirt in the machine once or twice and then see how the shirt fits
it should shrink somewhat

should only cost you about $15 to slim the body of the shirt if you find that you want it tailored

what would be wrong with #1 at work? Too tight?

What do you do?

The shirt as is, is fine for any moderately conservative business setting. Listen to romeo.

Fit 1 is more appropriate for a lead singer in a band. Which is nice work if you can get it.

put the shirt in the washing machine before you make any alterations.

Shirt #1 is ridiculous and is not even feasible in real life.
As you as you start typing, or raise your arm to swat a fly, your shirt will be untucked.
Also, the model in #1 has huge clips pinned in the back to make the shirt that tight.
You would not even be able to put on a shirt that tight.

Learn the difference between fantasy fashion shoots and real life.
You'll save yourself a lot of time and money,

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
