I've been reading threads where it's said to place shoes in the sun to lighten them. I don't want my shoes to lighten and fear that over time they may start to fade. Should I be using sunblock on my shoes? Will it hurt?

Are you serious?

How long before someone asks if the shoes can get skin cancer because of prolonged sun exposure?

Hey, what if the patina that you guys admire so much is actually melanoma?? Should I take my shoes to a dermatologist?

At once. And seek a second opinion.

Get real will ya! An spf 50+ is entirely overkill. It's like putting premium gas in a Hyundai. All you really need is a good spf 18, preferably one with a little aloe in it.

I learned about shoe sun damage the hard way.

Recently, I had the fine lines in my C&J Audleys injected with botox.

My shoes look ten years younger,

YOu need actively replicating cells to get cancer. It does not exist anymore in shoe leather. Duh! Any high school biology class will tell you that!

This would be more scientifically plausible........
