Earlier this year I bought a used solid navy BBGF suit, got it pretty cheap and most posters here vouched for Golden Fleece...well, being a tall and lean/athletic guy, the fit was truly awful. A real traditional old-man suit.
Low armholes, extremely boxy cut, double pleated pants, single vent etc.
The quality however, was excellent. Really nice material, solid construction (had a tailor go over it).
After getting the pleats removed, pants tapered, shoulders shortened, waist suppressed, it still doesn't look what I wanted...lesson learned; Don't waste money on trying to fix a sack suit.
And here's what I'm wondering: Are all of Brooks Brothers flagship models like that? As far as I can see, Golden Fleece is their top dog of suits.
Do they offer any modern cut suits with the same specs(Full-canvassed, nice materials, etc) ?
And with FF pants and double vent jacket?
