Diving in to bespoke shoes

I have about a zillion pairs of shoes, but believe it or not, I don't own a single pair of plain black captoe oxfords.

For this cornerstone shoe, I'd like to go full bespoke. Unfortunately, I don't know squat about the process. How do I go about this?

Is there a way to get bespoke shoes made without travelling to Europe? For example, my ideal pair would be Edward Green Chelsea on last 82. Do these companies do "trunk shows"? Could someone like Leffot do the measurements?

I am not wed to EG, I am just using that as an example of my ideal shoe.

Also, what kind of price range am I looking at? I'd like to keep it under $2,000 if possible.

BB,

For a true bespoke out of Europe, under USD2'000 will not give you a lot of choice...

BB,

For under 2K, you should consider Made to Order or something like EG Top Drawer rather than full bespoke. Leffot is a dealer for EG and you can work with them to get measured. You can also work with LeatherSoul too. As I understand Leffot's MTO or TD process, they will send the shoes to Leffot for trial before the soles are attached to be sure that the width is correct. There are others such as Alfred Sargent handgrades that are really nice and less expensive than EG's TD service.
