Distinguishing men's from women's gloves?

Of course not just the obvious features like sparkles and feathers and the fact that women's gloves are more slender etc.
Say for a pair of fairly unremarkable, plain leather gloves to the wrist, what features may distinguish men's from women's gloves?

The shape of the glove opening? The shape/direction of the stitching on the back of the gloves?

this is a stupid question. if you cant tell who else can tell.

if anything men's gloves usually wont go past the wrist or very far from it.

womens will usually go a couple inches past.

nonetheless if you cant tell who else can tell.

Mens dress gloves (not all) tend to have 3 ribs that span the length of the hand on the back of the glove.
The 3 ribs attempt to converge at the wrist and spread out towards the fingers.
The purpose of the ribs was probably to serve as extra cushioning should a man have to defend himeself or his woman in physical combat.
I don't recall seeing this feature on womens dress gloves but I could be wrong.
While womens gloves do tend to be on the slender side, there are plenty of unlined mens gloves that do this as well and are probably designed for appearances and little else.
Everything I just typed is specualtion and observation. Facts and actual history I leave to others to ring in on.

I thought the ribs were just where the leather was cinched for a better fit.

I was hoping a glove expert would have posted something by now.
We could both be right or wrong, I really don't know. I like my story better though, don't you?

The darts on the leather are simply for fit.

Women's gloves tend to be slimmer in the fit as women tend to have less broad palms than men.

Surely there must be some sort of convention that gets followed with gloves like how clothes have a convention with how they are buttoned.

Women's gloves have all the seams finished inside the glove, so you cannot see any raw edges. Men's gloves will have raw edges around the fingers, typically. After that go by width vs. length.
