Here’s a cute interview with Crescent Down Works about their jackets that were used in Stranger Things Season 4.

This is awesome, thanks for posting it. I loved those jackets on the show, and it's so rad to know that they were made by CDW.

Allbrids wrote down $11.6 million of inventory on their first run at apparel. Shoes are hard. Clothes are hard. Being a multi category brand is hard. Not a lot of them out there for a reason.

No idea that they ever even made clothing. There's barely any of it on their website now.

Dang. I wonder how much they were losing.

Has Mr. Porter ever actually earned any money? They've had like a 12 year run at this point.
Operating loss of 210 million Euros in 2022.

Pertinent to the fashion industry, and especially the little part that some of us occupy (the Lichenstein sized part of menswear): Thanks @Epaulet :
If you have an hour of work and want to listen to some entertaining stories courtesy of Yuki, who always brought the most energetic crew to the Styleforum Pitti Uomo dinners and drank a ton of wine.

Isn't that the way, these days?
  1. Startup.
  2. Lose tons of money in order to show growth.
  3. Get bought out.
  4. Retire to Ibiza.

Went downhill once Natalie Massenet was forced out.

I've been pondering something recently and maybe some of the people in the industry here would have an idea: if the US had entered the Trans Pacific Partnership, would that have had a noticable impact on the prices of import Japanese luxury brands (e.g. Iron Heart, Kapital, etc)? My understanding is that most of these brands are 1.5 to 2x more expensive in the US than Japan, and that at least some of that is due to import duties etc. My understanding (which is at a very baby level) is that the TPP would have reduced or eliminated those import duties, so it seems like that should have had a material effect on prices?
