Not a fan of their stuff, but they did have a very attractive store. Really sucks for that area which already lost Opening Ceremony and Totokaelo.
NY was already a mess with rents on those areas being so high, that it’s a known fact that most of those stores by themselves are not profitable.

compund that with very little tourist, lots of people working from home etc. these stores have become money pits, with the “reasons” for keeping them around just not justifiable anymore.

Oooph 3 years only. That had to be a brutal write off. Agreed that it was a great looking shop. They lost their space in Brentwood, CA too.

yeah while i don't care for the clothes, this is a bummer considering they did host some small pop ups and events in the same space. they did a few events with the local running community and i always thought that was especially cool of them.

Yeah, the brand didn't resonate for me either, but at least it has an angle enough that makes it distinct enough to have some sort of feeling about. I can't imagine them disappearing but a doubling down on online sales and popups seems like a way to go. One thing I do like about brands with "an angle" is that there's some natural storytelling that can be done around them.

This seems to have gone under the radar and probably of more relevance to those of us in Europe but a sad day for indie retail. (Image via Twitter)

Wow. I’ve always wondered how this works, If found guilt can D&G actually force the girls to pay as they are in the US? Or is it a case of no more EU visits for Diet Prada?

Interesting segment on NPR this morning. The petrochemical industry knew from the beginning that plastic recycling was not a viable solution. Less than 10% gets recycled apparently. Much like the tobacco and fossil fuel industries knew what their products did.

Good listen if you have the time.
