    I wonder if the smaller prestigious brands take a prestige hit by collabing with large retailers? I suppose I still think Lemaire is cool, but that might change if started seeing it at Walmart or MMM at Kroger....

    The name of the store is Tar-Get. People jokingly refer to it as Tar-Jae.

    I think that it does not diminish the luxury brand as long as it's properly presented and/or limited. The jil Sander for Uniqlo, Margiela for H&M, and Philippe Starck for Target are probably the best examples that come to mind. The common factor for all of these three are that the luxury brand are true luxury brands beyond the comfort level of most even fairly affluent people. I'd be more wary of this strategy for a brand like Hunter, which is a "splurge" spend for most people, but definitely within reach.

    I exclusively call it "Tar-Get" But I also tend to mostly buy generic Flonase bottles and family size bags of "Pirate's Booty." I have yet to rely on Target for any luxury-brand mass market diffusion products.

    I'm the same, but the collabs seem to garner a lot of good press and consumer attention nontheless. We are just not the target audience.

    On an earlier discussion, @dieworkwear came up with this idea that these concepts will only work if very the draw is fundamentally tied to the core function of the store. I've come to agree with this, mostly. So insofar as it can offer things like virtual fitting machines, scent rooms, etc... maybe it could work. Otherwise, not so much.

    If I'm spending for MTM, I probably want a lot more privacy than the Nordstrom virtual fitting machine in the hall setup.

    Never had any incentive to go to Nordstrom, maybe i’ll one day...
