Someone reccomended the Dior Homme line as being suited to my body type in another thread. Does anyone know where to find this brand at discount prices? It seems Bluefly and Overstock doesn't sell it; I checked Yoox.com but wouldn't consider their prices bargains for this brand.

Thanks.

To put it bluntly, you can't. Dior Homme is pretty hard to find, and additionally has a really huge cult following, which means that anything desirable by Dior will go fast, and at a premium. If you're in a major city, your best bet would be to wait until the end of season sales at Neiman Marcus or the like, of course the selection will be minimal, especially if you're a small/medium in general.

eBay has some decent selections if you don't have any local options, but as I mentioned earlier, there's an especially high demand for Dior, so the prices there will be much higher than most brands usually go for. To give you an idea, I actually made a decent profit by picking up some denim vests at $250-300 each (Neiman Marcus) and reselling them on eBay. If ~$200-300 at best for desirable basics is out of your budget, you may want to look at other labels.

Oh, Thanks. So could you reccommend some reputable Ebay vendors?

I'd say the only regular reliable source is black*label*resale. He has a good selection and a wide range of sizes, though since the Dior fans also seem to regard him as the top Dior seller on eBay, his items will fetch a higher premium. There are a few others who pop up with a few items every now and then, but none especially worth mentioning (except ah008j, who's a douche that steals other people's auction texts... sorry, I'm bitter that he did that with one of my auctions).

There's also a Dior Homme group on MSN Groups. They have a small buy/sell forum that also has links to eBay auctions of Dior stuff.

You shoud absolutely do the whole last call / final sale what not at Neiman Marcus, because you can make some nice cash there. If you were to find a pair of jeans by Dior Homme, in any color, you can resell it for nice money on eBay.

I see Hedi Slimane to be very influential, but the more I learn about clothes, the more I just sort of lean away from Dior Homme. Although I do love that Hedi has Sonic Youth and Phoenix play when they open new boutiques. I have a hard time going out of the house in ANY Dior Homme item, even the jeans. They are just so aggressive. The one really redeeming factor that Dior has with me are the suits, but that is something I would never buy, because from my understanding the actual quality / durability of most Dior Homme (my jeans and shirt seem to be holding up fine, but I have heard of seams ripping easily, etc. etc.), I would be hard pressed to spend that much money on a Dior suit when I could get a Jil Sander or a Helmut Lang for much cheaper, the former being full-canvas with a perfect fit and the latter being excellent quality with a perfect fit. Perhaps the HL suits are full-canvas as well, but I wouldn't know because I've never put one to the test.

I'll add the caveat that if you do try that, you should only buy small/medium sizes (which generally are heavily picked over anyway). Would a person with a 38 waist wear Dior Homme? I once saw several Dior painted jeans in sizes 36 and 38 going for $175 at a Neiman's sale. Great deal at first glance, but if you look at eBay auctions, even black*label*resale couldn't sell those sizes on eBay at the same prices. If you find a 30 at deep discount, on the other hand, you've hit the jackpot.
